Interaction Design Workshop in Arlington, VA


On Friday (April, 12, 2010) SCAD professor David Meyers led a workshop on the fundamentals of Interaction Design for students at the Arlington Center for the Arts. Students developed a set of graphical user interfaces using goal-based methodology. Students also participated in a group card-sort in a series of architectural information exercises. Paper prototypes were developed and critiqued in a group setting.

Meyers to lead Drawing Workshop in Jacksonville, FL


David Meyers will conduct a drawing workshop for young people (ages 11 and up) at the Ponte Vedra Cultural Art Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Currently the workshop is scheduled for the first week in August. Once final dates are announced, they will be posted.

Drawing From Life
Students will explore a variety of drawing techniques to improve artistic observation. Concepts will include portrait structure, perspective, emphasis, gesture and figurative blocking. Students will draw in a fast-paced environment and be encouraged to maintain a sketchbook outside of class during the workshop.

SCAD Purchases Artwork for Permanent Collection


The Savannah College of Art and Design has announced the purchase of the multi-media piece O Father for their permanent collection. The digital photo-painting combination is a portrait of the artist's father and was created for his eighty-first birthday as a tribute to fatherhood.
